Songs shaped by change

Atravessar, which translates to “to cross” or “to journey through,” explores the transitions that shape our lives. Blending contemporary MPB with elements of Northeastern Brazilian music and pop, the EP reflects on love, distance, personal growth, and the courage to embrace new beginnings. Rather than telling a single story, the songs invite listeners to find pieces of their own experiences within Nathália’s deeply personal reflections.

The project also represents an important milestone in her artistic independence. Successfully funded through a crowdfunding campaign, Atravessar was brought to life with the direct support of her audience, strengthening the community that has grown around her original music. Beyond the studio recordings, the project will also expand into a live performance designed to deepen the connection between the songs and the stage. The first single, “Cantando o Amor,” is out today, August 11.

Looking ahead

What makes Nathália Cavalcante’s story especially compelling isn’t simply the list of achievements behind her. It’s the sense that every experience, from international stages to television appearances, has led naturally to this moment of creative expression. Atravessar, set to launch by the end of January 2027, feels less like a debut and more like the beginning of a new artistic chapter.

If the themes behind the EP are any indication, Nathália isn’t interested in easy answers. Instead, she embraces life’s cycles of meeting, parting, dreaming, and beginning again, reminding us that the experiences that shape us are often the very ones that lead us forward.
